Privacy
Last updated: 31 October 2026.
This site stores as little as it can. This page lists all of it.
Who is responsible
Ferdi Tuinman, Leonard Springerlaan 35, 9727 KB Groningen, the Netherlands. Email: ferdi@ferdituinman.nl.
What we store
For an account: your email address, a hash of your password, your username, your avatar, your starting level and your ratings.
For every game: the moves with their clock times, both declarations, the result and the ratings before and after. Games are public in the archive, under your username or guest number.
For a guest: a cookie with a random guest number. Guest games are stored under that number.
During the test phase: what you type in the feedback box, with the page and the game on it.
With Google sign-in: the account number Google gives us and your email address. We do not ask Google for your name or photo.
What we do not store
IP addresses. They are not in the database and not in the logs.
Chat messages. They exist only while the game runs.
Anything from third parties. The site loads nothing from other servers and uses no tracking or advertising cookies.
Cookies
cc_guest holds your guest number. cc_session keeps you signed in for 90 days. Both are needed for the site to work, so there is no cookie banner.
cc_google exists only during a Google sign-in, for at most 30 minutes. It ties Google's answer to your browser.
Your browser also keeps a few choices for this site: your last declaration, 10+0 or Daily, sound on or off, a muted chat and whether you have seen the eval bar note. They stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
How long
Logs: 7 days. Backups: 14 days. Your account: until you delete it.
Your rights
Your profile page has a button to delete your account. Your email address, password hash, ratings and sessions go at once. Your games stay in the archive under the name "Deleted Cheater".
The same page exports your data as JSON and PGN. For anything else, email the address above.
You can file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
We send email only to your own address: to confirm it and to reset your password.
